ARGENTINA: Central Bank policy Are Independent, Says the Minister

Argentina’s Minister of the interior, Rogelio Frigerio said that President Mauricio Macri “is the one that sets the macroeconomic policy objectives, including the inflation target, but a policy to achieve this goal, an Autonomous, independent decision of the President of the Central Bank.”

In statements to the daily El Tribuno, said the official in terms of the most recent monetary policy decision of the Person, that “the decision of the Central Bank in terms of the decline in the rate compared to what the market has discounted a clear sign that the autonomy.”

Frigerio also stressed that the current President of the BCRA, Federico Sturzenegger, the head of the monetary authority.
