Latvia Inflation At 4-Month High
Latvia's consumer price inflation accelerated in August to the highest level in four months, figures from the Central Statistical Bureau showed Friday.
The consumer price index climbed 3.1 percent year-over-year in August, faster than the 2.6 percent increase in July.
Moreover, the latest inflation was the strongest since April, when prices had risen 3.4 percent.
Food prices grew 6.8 percent annually in August and health costs went up by 2.9 percent. Meanwhile, clothing and footwear prices dropped 0.4 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down 0.2 percent from July, when it fell by 0.7 percent.
