Military action against north Korea is not inevitable, according to Trump.

U.S. president Donald Trump would prefer to avoid military action against north Korea, but if he is forced to, there will be a ”very sad day” for the leadership in Pyongyang.

This he said at a press conference during the night of Friday, Swedish time, according to Reuters.

”Military action is certainly an option. Is it inevitable? Nothing is inevitable,” he said.

”I would prefer to not go the military way. If we use it against north Korea, it will be a very sad day for north Korea,” continued the Donald Trump.

Reuters notes that at the same time to China on Thursday agreed that the UN should take more action against Pyongyang, but Beijing also continues to argue for the dialogue to reduce the tensions.

”Given the new developments on the Korean peninsula, agree with China that the united nations should provide a further response and take the necessary measures”, said utrikesminster Wang Yi.

”Each new action taken by the international community against the DPRK (north Korea) should serve the purpose to curb the DPRK’s nuclear weapons and missile programmes, and at the same time, to promote a återstartad dialogue and consultation,” he continued.
