PERU: unemployment rate Rises To 4.2% Between August And October
The unemployment rate in Peru rose to 4.2% between August and October, a subtle increase from the previous quarter, when the unemployment level was 4.0%, that the South American country’s statistics office. In the last two quarters, the unemployment rate in Peru, hitting the lowest level in four months.
Between August and October, the economically active population in Peru grew by 2.7% compared to the same period in 2016, adding 433,100 new jobs.
The employment increased in particular in the services sector (+4.4%), industry (+1.7%), primary activities (+1.5%), construction (+1.4%) and trade (+1.3%).
